Someone said something about it raining?
In 1999, one month after moving to Wilmington, three hurricanes in a row blew through Port City. The last in the series was Hurricane Floyd. It dumped right at 20″ of water in a 24 hour period. This crazy tropical depression which is currently an unnamed hussy, though it may be christened “Nicole,” is going to give Mr. Floyd a run for his money. The only thing Floyd has under his belt is the time period–24 hours. Ms. May-be-named-Nicole looks as though she is going to come close to tying or topping the record; she just needed a tad bit more time, like 2-3 days.
Here’s the understatement at WECT:
It now appears southeast North Carolina will have to deal with a second bout of very heavy rain Wednesday and Thursday as a large tropical depression, which could become a tropical storm Nicole, rides along a front stalled just off our coast. This set up will bring copious amounts of moisture into the area. In addition the set up in the upper levels of the atmosphere should be favorable for widespread and heavy rain and thunderstorms. Depending on the exact track and strength of the storm tropical storm force wind gusts maybe possible along the coast.
The animals are pairing up 2×2 along College Road in front of McAllisters and one of the employees in the store just said that some character by the name of “Ham” ran in to get some vitamin C to take “on the boat.”
Is there supposed to be water dripping from the ceiling?
