Sometimes instructions don’t make sense.
Planning a retreat this weekend, I wanted to be able to have a campfire/bonfire. So, I simply asked the caretakers of the facilities we will be using if that is possible.
Their response:
You may have a fire on the beach as long as the wind isn’t stronger than 22 knots.
Maybe they confused me with a nautical person; “knots” immediately takes me back to my Boy Scout days when I had to tie a lot of them. I could certainly tie 21 knots together, but it would probably be quite strong; I really don’t know how to distinguish between the strength of 21 vs. 22 knots.
And the same applies to the wind.
Anyone have a “knot measurer” that I could borrow?

I got an idear… get some battery operated fans and blow them in the direction the wind is coming from. Maybe, just maybe it will slow it down a bit?!?!
Hey! That might work…
