The combination of the economy’s failure and the holiday season we’re in is proving to be a tough combination for more folks than you’d think. It’s interesting how it affects the thoughts that go through my head during sermon preparation.

I would love to sit down with my old grad school and undergrad professors and have a lengthy conversation with them about the failure of the system to prepare the people they’re turning out as pastors. Our system is so skewed towards a model that is a dismal failure in dealing with Kingdom issues that can only be classified as inefficient at best, if you were wanting to paint a rosy picture.

Such a shame that we’re wed to a system that doesn’t work.
