Aren’t some things just fascinating?

Car odometers rolling over to 100,000 (or 10,000) is such an example. Why should that arrest our attention? But it does.

The same is true of dates that are out of the ordinary. The changing of the millenium was one of the more momentous; remember all the cryptic 01.01.00 date monikers. Even the next year there was the 01.01.01 (and the corresponding dates each year thereafter, e.g., 02.02.02, 03.03.03, etc.).

Now we’re at 1.11.11. Later this year we’ll see 11.11.11. I find that fascinating for some odd reason.

What did dawn on me this morning was that this is in some ways the same way Abba view us: one-of-a-kind, fascinating, intriguing, even mysterious (yes, He can find us “mysterious”). 1.11.11 will not appear again for 100 years and even then it will be different (1.11.2111).
