The whole Terry Jones burning the Koran thing is frustrating.
The response to what he did by Muslims in Afghanistan proves to many that he is right; the response of those outside the church to him proves to them that all Christians are that way.
Burning the Koran is not the way of Jesus; that is much too easy. His way is far more radical and extremely more difficult. The believer is to exercise violent faith against the gates of hell and the whole pantheon of evil, but not in the way the world would do it:
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. –Ephesians 6:12
The way of Jesus powerfully dismantles and destroys that which is evil because it operates in the environment where the evil exists. The way of a Terry Jones is simply a knee jerk reaction to a symptom of the cause.
And just as worthless.

Or what about the Westbrook guys? The other morning I was driving the kids to school and they were talking about the courts decision that these church members had the right to go to funerals and do what ever crazy thing they do in Jesus’ name. So the boys asked about what was up. I give a brief rundown, and then shrug and just say that is not Christ. Can you even imagine Jesus thinking that burning the Koran or protesting funerals will win folks over to Him?
You know that place on that island in Chattanooga (wink, wink)? Maybe that’s where they all came from.
Now there’s an interesting crew! Don’t you know any good Baptist cringes when he hears “Westbrook Baptits Church”?!
